A tragic bus accident involving the Long Island high school in Farmingdale, NY as the school band was taking a trip to band camp in Greeley, Pennsylvania. The band camp runs from Thursday until Sunday.
The Greyhound bus that rolled over on I-84 was part of a five bus caravan taking approximately 90 students to the camp. The accident occurred at approximately 1:30pm and its cause is unknown but under investigation at the moment.
CBS News is reporting “Numerous emergency responders were visible on the scene. Windows on one side of the bus had been smashed out, and a ladder was raised along the side of the bus near the broken windows.”
Initial reports suggest that 45 people were on the bus involved in the accident, and five were seriously injured. Some of the injured were taken to Garnet Health Medical in Middletown, N.Y.
