In breaking news that is eerily similar to the arrest of Sean P. Diddy Combs, former Abercrombie and Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries, along with two Jeffries’ associates have been arrested on sex trafficking charges. The men are expected to appear in federal court today.
The indictment – which contains more than a dozen counts – alleges that between December 2008 and March 2015, Jeffries and two other associates engaged in a sex trafficking scheme in which they would recruit men with model aspirations, a source said. A second source says they allegedly would also engage in sex-themed parties at which these prospective models were given drugs, alcohol and Viagra to perform sex acts.
Jeffries and his life partner Matthew Smith will appear in federal court in the Southern District of Florida. A third man, Jim Jacobson, is scheduled to make his initial appearance this afternoon in federal court in the Western District of Wisconsin. All three men will appear in federal court for the Southern District of New York at a later date for arraignment.
Jeffries came under intense media scrutiny after a BBC expose revealed that the men had been engaged in luring young men into sex parties by promising them modeling work for Abercrombie and Fitch. Dozens of civil lawsuits were filed last year against Jeffries as federal law enforcement authorities began their investigation into their criminal activity.
The sex trafficking charges stem from allegations that Jeffries, Smith, and Jacobson would fly the you male victims to New York and around the world for the sex parties.
Earlier this month, Sean Combs was arrested and charged similarly after an investigation found that Combs held lavish sex parties in which he would assault and abuse his victims.
