HOW IS SURGERY USED TO TREAT A TUMOR?

Surgery against tumors can be the quickest method of defeating cancer. A tumor may be removed entirely or partially (debulking) during surgical treatment, which may result in a reduction of pain and pressure due to the presence of such a tumor.

TREATING COLON CANCER

Surgery is the most common form of treatment to remove the diseased sections of the colon. It can be used to inspect the surrounding lymph nodes so as to prevent the cancer from spreading to nearby parts of the body. Clinical trials using the newest forms of treatments and therapies may also be frequently used based on the specific case at hand.

TREATING PROSTATE CANCER

Unlike colon cancer, prostate cancer uses more of n hormone therapy approach to avoid surgery, hormone therapy will treat the tumor and make it smaller before using radiation therapy and/or surgery.
