Dr. Darius Paduch, the New York urologist and convicted sexual abuser, is scheduled to be sentenced on August 22, 2024 on all 13 counts he faced related to his sexual abuse of eight patients, according to the Manhattan US Attorney’s Office.
Paduch, who had worked NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and Northwell Health, carried out the abuse from 2015 through 2019. These are criminal charges stemming from sexually abusing his patients while alone with his patients. Paduch faces many more civil lawsuits for these assaults.
Paduch instructed his patients to masturbate or he would masturbate them, at times using sex toys. He is also accused of performing unnecessary rectal exams without gloves on patients.
Dr. Paduch has been incarcerated since his arrest in April 2023 and faces a sentence of up to 60 years in prison. His lawyer has vowed to appeal the convictions but there is wide swath of criminal and civil evidence against the urologist that would make an appeal difficult.
