Did you know that some medications may cause hearing loss? Based on new litigation against certain drugs that may cause hearing loss, we thought we would inform you of certain ototoxic drugs that may have these side effects.
Tepezza Causing Hearing Loss
Recent information about Tepezza, a thyroid eye disease drug, has prompted us to gather this information about hearing loss. Tepezza is reported to cause some hearing loss side effects, that can sometimes be permanent. These side effects include autophony, which is hearing your own voice echoed or amplified. Tepezza can also cause you to experience ringing in your ears, also known as tinnitus, and hyperacusis, which is sound sensitivity.
Other Drugs Causing Hearing Loss
Hearing loss associated with prescription drugs or medications can range in severity from temporary ringing to permanent hearing loss. There are also some factors that can amplify the risk of this side effect, such as smoking and obesity. Here are some drugs that may you may want to proceed with caution when taking them:

Hearing loss may also be hard to detect in some cases. You may have a hard time noticing if any drugs may have affected your hearing. Common question you can ask yourself are: do I ask people to repeat themselves? Or do I have ringing in my ears? There are also more conspicuous clues, such as being able to concentrate in extremely noisy environments. These symptoms may be a cause of ototoxic medication and a hearing test appointment is recommended.
Routine hearing test have many benefits, which include tracking your hearing overtime. If a hearing test is done yearly, you will be able to track changes in your hearing and modify any causes of deficiency, which can include medication or even underlying illnesses. This can also help to prevent further damage or injuries that hearing loss can cause, such as physical harm that can be caused by a lack of auditory perception to danger.
