Our firm is actively accepting civil sexual abuse cases against Paduch and his employers.

Led by esteemed Attorney Thomas P. Giuffra, who has tried cases against Harvey Weinstein and Dr. Robert Hadden, Rheingold, Giuffra, Ruffo, Plotkin and Hellman LLP offers individualized and trauma-informed representation for victims of Darius Paduch.

The Case Against Class Action Civil Sexual Abuse Lawsuits

We feel strongly that these types of cases deserve to be handled individually and that this is in the best interest of our clients. While a class action lawsuit may offer greater efficiency to a law firm, each case is unique. The damage done to survivors of abuse cannot be compared or averaged between cases, as reflected by the potential settlement values of a class action lawsuit.

We urge you to seek the bespoke representation that you deserve. Our firm is confidently and aggressively filing claims against Paduch and large medical institutions, such as NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and Northwell Health. We invest the time, meticulous attention to detail and resources necessary to put forth the best case possible, and one that seeks maximum compensation from all liable parties. We are renowned for our trial advocacy skills and respect survivors’ need for anonymity.

There is a lot at stake with sensitive case matters such as these, and survivors deserve a skilled attorney who will treat them as individuals; with both compassion and respect. We encourage you to contact our firm for a free and confidential consultation. If you choose to hire our firm, we work on a contingency basis.

From a statement released from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of New York:

“Over the course of several years, PADUCH sexually abused multiple male patients, including minor male patients, while conducting purported urological examinations in his capacity as a medical doctor employed by a prestigious medical institution in New York, New York (“Medical Institution-1”).

From at least in or about 2007 through at least in or about 2019, PADUCH, while working as a urologist, enticed and induced multiple victims to travel to his medical offices at Medical Institution-1, so PADUCH could, among other things, sexually abuse the victims…PADUCH used his position as a urologist at prominent medical institutions in New York to make or attempt to make the victims believe that the sexual abuse he inflicted on them was medically necessary and appropriate, when, in fact, it was not. PADUCH often directed the victims to schedule follow-up visits, and he instructed victims to return to see him again. As a result, some of the victims attended many appointments with PADUCH over the course of multiple years, at which PADUCH repeatedly abused them.”

Important Information Regarding Statute of Limitations

New York State and New York City have both passed significant legislation to support victims of abuse and assault in their right to justice via civil claims. Namely, the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law and the Adult Survivor Act have extended the statute of limitations.
For adult survivors, the statute of limitations in New York is generally three years. However, legislation passed in 2019 now allows adult survivors of sexual abuse and assault a 20-year statute of limitations.
For survivors whose abuse occurred in New York City, the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law (VGMVPL), may be a path to file a civil claim with a lifted statute of limitations. This lookback window mirrors the Adault Survivor Act and is set to expire on March 1, 2025.
