Thomas P. Giuffra, partner at the law firm of Rheingold Giuffra Ruffo Plotkin & Hellman LLP, won his 18th million dollar verdict last week in NYS Supreme Court, Staten Island. In winning the $2.5 million verdict Mr. Giuffra becomes one of the only lawyers in NYC who has million dollar verdicts in all five boroughs of NYC as well as Nassau and Suffolk counties.
It is verdicts such as these which allow Mr. Giuffra to qualify as an “Advocate” for the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), held by only 28 New York lawyers. ABOTA is an organization dedicated to preserving the constitutional vision of equal justice for all Americans and the preservation of our civil justice system, and in particular the right to trial by jury. “Advocate” status in ABOTA is one of the highest honors that can be attained by a civil trial lawyer.
