Approximately 2,300 Children’s Henley Pima Cotton Pajamas are subject to a recall for violating flammability standards. These pajamas were manufactured in Peru, imported by Bliss Collection LLC and sold throughout the country. The pajamas failed to meet the heightened standard of flammability for children’s sleepwear. To date, no injuries or incidents have been reported.
As a part of our firm’s product liability work, we handle garment flammability cases. One important issue that clients need to be aware of is to save any remaining evidence as well as any receipts. Also, you should immediately purchase the same item from the same store, so flammability tests can be done on the fabric. Actual flammability standards are very weak, and the average consumer has no idea how dangerous many clothing fabrics can be around ignition sources. To give you an idea, a newspaper passes the federal standard for regular clothing.
